September 2014 - Plans approved! Now the fun really starts! July 2014 - Plans submitted The plans have now been submitted to Cotswold District Council under ref 14/03079/Ful.  Here are some of the main drawings: Existing site plan Proposed lower ground floor Proposed upper ground floor Proposed first floor Proposed street elevation Proposed East elevation Design access February 2014 - Clearance completed Despite the constant rain, we have managed to clear the site of all the dead and unruly bushes, and have completed the site clearance.  The surveyor will be calling soon to map the site, and then we will be starting the design process.  Nothing much visible will happen for a while now, other than a bit of tidying. January 2014 - Land purchased After a couple of false starts, we have now completed the purchase of the land.  It doesn’t look much at the moment, but over the coming weeks we will be clearing away all of the dead and shabby bushes on the east side of the plot, and tidying the site ready for the various surveys that will be taking place. October 2013  - Planning position confirmed The land was offered for sale as ‘building land’, but this was effectively relying on planning consent from the mid 1970’s.  A ‘CLOPUD’ was submitted, and Cotswold District Council have now confirmrd the plot has planning permission to build one dwelling in similar proportions to the older style 4 bed Sandford Leaze houses.

January 2015 - Work starts We are at last getting close to starting our big adventure!  Shortly after the festive season, we will be starting work on site – this will mean a large digger will be excavating the lower part of the groundworks, and moving the earthworks to the top ready for collection. The excavations shouldn’t cause too much impact, but when the pile is ready there will be a number of trucks taking it away.  Unfortunately this will inevitably cause some disruption, but we will instruct the team to be as considerate as possible.  We will clean any spillages as quickly as possible, but do be aware that there could be some mud on the road during the day. If you have children, please ask them not to play on site, as it will be very dangerous – the nature of the plot means that we can’t prevent access. We hope to take delivery of the timber frame at the end of February (we will have a big crane in the street for a day or two), and that should mark the end of the large scale works. Please bear with us over the next few weeks, but if you have any real concerns, do let us know (see contact details below).
